 Artist Statement:  Working with clay as an art medium is a magical thing.  Clay is a material which is dug from the earth.  It is pliable and soft in your hands and can become long-lanting when fired to a hot temperature.  It is the uptimate green material.  I work with clay with hand-building techniques creating tile, bowls, platters and sculptural objects.

My work in painting has evolved from depicting specific objects and spaces to depicting nonspecific objects and spaces...a more abstracted observation of the world.  I used multiple media in my paintings....acrylic, oil and collage.  I depict feelings about my life, the lives of those around me and the earthly textures and forms that surround me with landscape, botanical and symbolical images.

Experimenting with metal, copper in particular, is intriguing.  I am working with it as abstract embossed wall art.
